Director, Pastoral Care/Chaplain (Pastoral Care)

Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:  

The Director of Pastoral Care develops programs and provides services designed to meet the religious and spiritual needs of patients, their families, and CVCM Team Members. Ensures that emotional support, spiritual counsel and comfort are provided to patients and families facing difficult medical choices.  Plans and coordinates with other clergy to ensure interfaith approach to Pastoral Care at CVMC.

EDUCATION – Master of Divinity from an accredited seminary required.

EXPERIENCE – A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the related area as an individual contributor and experience in healthcare are preferred.

Nurse Anesthetists (Surgical Services)

Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:  

Administer anesthesia, monitor patients vital signs, and oversee patient recovery from anesthesia in OR setting.

EDUCATION – Graduate from an accredited school of Nurse Anesthesia or Assistant program and currently licensed in the State of Alabama.

EXPERIENCE –Proficient in computer technology utilized in the performance of duties  Proficient in utilizing anesthesia equipment, monitoring system, anesthetic and pain control drugs, and related supplies. Must hold a BLS and ACLS. Must be able to establish and maintain working relationships with patients, medical staff and public.  Must be able to read, understand and respond to detailed oral and written instruction; communicate clearly and maintain quality control standards.

Pt Care Sec/Monitor Technician (ICU)

Full-time Position; 3p-11p, 7/7

Job Description:

Observes patient’s heart rhythm on monitors and reports significant changes or abnormal patterns of heart rhythm to nurse.  Patient Care Secretary functions under direction of Nurse Manager/designee and assists in maintaining a smooth functioning unit.

EDUCATION – Job related course work after high school of up to 12 months in specific area such as word processing with typing of 20 wpm. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.  Ability to interpret rhythm strips (EKGs) to be acquired during free time participation in brief vocational education program.

EXPERIENCE – Work requires up to six months on-the-job training to acquire necessary familiarity with department policies, procedures and forms.  Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to effectively and cordially interact with patients and families.  Must be able to accurately and effectively perform basic entry on EMR.

Medical Receptionist (Sylacauga Surgical Clinic)

Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Medical Receptionist performs a variety of clerical/clinical duties while providing professional and courteous support to patients, physicians, office, and hospital staff.   Assists the physcians with a variety of medical paperwork (triage of paperwork, diagnoses results, ordering); facilitate admitting of patients; and communicates with other physician offices regarding patient’s status as appropriate.

EDUCATION – High school education or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE – A minimum of one year experience in a medical practice setting, assisting physicians, or equivalent training in a related field preferred. Knowledge of or experience in hospital nursing/assisting. Ability to prepare basic written materials and follow verbal and written instructions.  Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, the public and various levels of management.  Must possess effective computer skills.  Ability to operate a facsimile machine, calculator and copy machine.

Dietary Assistant (Food and Nutrition Department)

Full-time Position; 5a-2p                                                                  

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs various tasks related to assembly and distribution of patient meals and nourishment; cleaning and sanitation; handling and storing foods and supplies; collects and disposes of trash and garbage.

EDUCATION – High school education or equivalent.  Requires understand/transmit detailed instructions and performing simple arithmetic calculations.

EXPERIENCE – Six to twelve months experience as a hospital cook or similar position.

Foundation Director (Marketing)

Full-time Position; 8a-5p

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Foundation Director is responsible for leading and strengthening a comprehensive fundraising program in support of the Foundation’s mission and goals.  Specific emphasis is focused on annual giving, major giving, planned giving, grants and fundraising events.  The Director will strive to build a greater understanding and support for both the Hospital’s and Foundation’s mission, vision and goals in the region.

EDUCATION – Bachelor degree required, advanced degree preferred. A degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications or related field preferred. Certification or CFRE preferred.

EDUCATION – Minimum five years of increasingly responsible fundraising experience preferably in a healthcare setting with evidence of continued growth through education and participation in professional fundraising organizations. Demonstrate a record of continuing involvement in professional activities. Work independently and as an effective team member. Set and meet deadlines and goals. Excellent analytical, organizational, management and communication skills, both oral and written. Computer skills required to manage fundraising and donor databases. Demonstrated ability to build effective and collaborative relationships with a wide set of constituencies. Demonstrated ability to multi-task. Demonstrated knowledge and /or experience in all phases of Foundation work.  Demonstrated track record of solid accomplishment in fundraising.

Food Services Coordinator

Full-time Position; Varies

GENERAL SUMMARY:   

Provide accurate and prompt service of meals and nourishments to patients through supervised activities of employees in patient food services areas.

EDUCATION – High school education or equivalent with ability to read and write.  Ability to lead, train and schedule workers.  Knowledge of diets preferred.  Serv-Safe certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE – Previous clerical experience with relevant math/bookkeeping skills preferred.   Minimum one year Food Service experience required.  Leadership experience or equivalent training/education required.  Must have good communication skills. 

Environmental Assistant(Environmental Services)

Full-time Position; 7a-3p

Perform repetitive tasks in maintaining an assigned area in an orderly and sanitary condition.

EDUCATION – High school education or equivalent required.  Work requires ability to read, write, understand and/or transmit detailed instructions or information and ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations.  Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in order to read labels when preparing cleaning solutions and be able to efficiently follow supervisor’s work orders.

EXPERIENCE-  One to three months’ on-the-job experience necessary in order to become familiar with heavy housekeeping duties and to acquire working knowledge of cleaning procedures and maintenance of power equipment.

Cook (Food Services)

Full-time Position; Varies shifts

GENERAL SUMMARY:   

Prepares and cooks food for patients, cafeteria and special function meals according to established procedures and guidelines to produce highest quality meal possible with minimum waste.

EDUCATION – High school education or equivalent.  Requires understand/transmit detailed instructions and performing simple arithmetic calculations.

EXPERIENCE – Six to twelve months experience as a hospital cook or similar position.

Pharmacy Technician (Pharmacy Services)

Temporary Position; Varies shifts

GENERAL SUMMARY:  

A pharmacy technician assists a pharmacist in the process of filling a prescription.  The technician will perform pharmaceutical care tasks under the control and guidance of a licensed pharmacist.  A technician must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy.

EDUCATION – High school education or equivalent required.  Ability to read and write, prepare and interpret written instructions and make arithmetical calculations.  Require basic typing ability of 20 wpm to access data in pharmacy computer system.

EXPERIENCE – Six months’ of continuous experience in a pharmacy position with I.V. admixture service experience.  Ability to provide guidance and training to other pharmacy technicians and students.  Registered with Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician.
